DESCRIPTION:
Designed by Colin Chapman the Lotus 7 went into production in 1957 and soon became very popular given its light weight and ease of handling this was all but a street legal racing car. Production continued until 1972 when the last of the 'true' sevens rolled off the production line with a total of 2500 having been produced.

After Lotus ceased production Caterham bought the rights and continue to this day producing both cars and kits for self-build branding the car as a Caterham Seven.

Made in China for Scalextric the model is ex shop-stock and may or may not have had some minimal use as a demonstation vehicle.
